Medical collection letter - when is it reported to CRA?

Yesterday I received a collection letter from a billing agency for a medical lab used by the hospital I had a procedure done at in February. The biller originally billed me much more than my insurance company allowed ($383) so the amount had to be reprocessed by CIGNA. That was in early June. After receiving the letter I immediately called them. The person there "Gloria" checked into it and said it was a mistake on their part, they would write off the incorrect amount of $383 and send out a correct bill of $12.84. I followed up the phone call with a letter to them citing the conversation with Gloria and my information from CIGNA.

My concern is that I'm in the middle of a mortgage refinance and have pristine credit. The letter says nothing about reporting to the credit bureaus, but, will they? When? As far as I can tell this is the regular biller the medical office uses, not a specialized collections agent. I cannot afford this to show up, and it's not even my fault.

No, it shouldn't show up. Try not to worry about it.
