Just got an alert from my credit report that A. A. Auction Collection Co, Livingston, NJ placed on my public record. Medical office just sold to A. A. Collection Co and I paid the payment to the original creditor and we refused to pay any payment to the collection agency. MY FICO score dropped 33 points after they placed it on my credit report after original creditor just sold to them last month. Can they do that?

Did you make payment before or after the account was sold?

Did the OC accept your payment? I'm trying to get rid of an old medical bill, but the OC refuses to accept my payment, or at least that's what they keep telling me.
