Okay I swear this was not listed when I pulled my EQ report last month -- however I can't find my copy of that report at the moment. So...when going to dispute something else, I see EQ has 3 lists (Accounts, Collections, Public Record) ....under Accounts I no longer see the car loan issue I refer to in my other thread (Getting rid of paid OC late pays)....which is weird, however under Collections I now see a med collection for a bill from a doctor I used to use years ago when living in CA. Here are the stats: Date Reported: 01/2008 Date Assigned: 09/2006 Creditor Classification: Medical/Health Care Creditor Name: xxx Account Number: xxx Account Owner: Individual Account. Original Amount Owned: $442 Date of 1 st Delinquency: 07/2006 Balance Date: 01/2008 Here's the thing....this was a doc I used when I was with an ex-gf out in CA. We broke up Sept 2005, subsequent to that, I am *pretty sure* I never used this doc again as he had very close ties to her and her family and I felt uncomfortable. I had insurance back then, but for whatever reason, I used him who did not accept my insurance so it was a cash account that started building a balance. Now, if I last used him sometime in '05, and my payments were always in cash, and I believe I probably stopped paying around the same time we broke up (long story short, I went EXTREMELY broke when we broke up), I feel as though the 1st date of delinquency would have been mid/late 2005, not 7/06 as they are stating here..... ....so what should I do? Dispute through EQ? Send DV LTR to CA? Both? or leave alone for another year until I can be sure I'm past the 7.5 year reporting mark? SOL, whether in CA where debt originated, or in PA (where I live now) is well up at this point so I know I'm not in any danger of being sued.
I would DV the CA using the 1-2 punch. (Send DV to CA, as soon as you know that they have received it, send a CRA dispute to the CRA. I would be sure to reference the credit report you received on xx/xx/xxxx, as the initial communication.
