I have a few medical collections that are showing as a result of a surgery I had in 2001. The catch is that the reason these medical bills went into collections was the Health Insurance company 'forgot' to pay these bills. Well when I bought my car a couple years ago I found out about this and had the Ins. company pay the bills. Is there anyway that I can get these deleted? What should I do?

Since the insurance company was billed, and messed up paying in a timely manner, did the original provider send you a bill before sending it to collection? Was it late based on sending it to insurance, or based on sending it to you?

I never rec'd a bill. The only way I knew that it was on my credit report was that the bank I bought my car from told me I had to pay them off before they would loan me the money.
