Medical Lab

I had some procedures done the end of the year. My doctor's office sent over the wrong insurance and contact information to the lab for billing. So they billed the wrong insurance company, it was denied and when they tried to contact me by phone it was disconnected. I had updated all of that information with my Dr's office when I went in.

I got a letter from a collection agency yesterda for $528. I called the lab/pathology office and they would not talk to me and would not re-bill the new insurance company. They told me that I had to call the collection agency and have them do it! So I called the collection agency, and of course the lady was very rude. Asked me for the insurance information and the address for my insurance company. I did not have the address for them with me so she's telling me I have to call back for that.

Is there any way I can get the lab to pull it back from them?

You really need to get your insurance companies information and contact the insurance company back. See if they will resolve the problem and retract the collection agency.

You might try the link I have listed above, it is old info, but it may still be a good direction to go.

Thanks. I contacted Anthem and they called my Dr.'s office directly and told them they had to re-submit it so that the lab company can pull it back from the collection agent
