I sent a validation request to a DC for a medical bill from 2/99 in the amoount of $110. I received the response and all it is, is a copy of a statement. According to the statement, I was treated for a fracture, but the doctor submitted it to the insurance company as surgery! I paid the copay back in 99, but because it was submitted as surgery, there was a deductable. Another thing I noticed on the statement was, that my spouse at the time was the responsible party. Doesn't that mean it can not be listed on my credit report? It only reflects his social security number, not mine! I think I should send them a letter saying I am not the responsible party. Am I correct in my thinking?
