I haven't been able to 100% confirm my file has been merged but it sure looks like it. They won't let me order an online report because they can't confirm my identity and have placed a 1 week block on online access. To further compound things I started a dispute a few days ago so if I contact them I will give them an extra 15 days. I will either go ahead and call them or wait for the 30 days to expire. Has any one used a merged file as a tool in cleaning up their report? At this point I am thinking of disputing all merged and inaccurate lines in one dispute and if they fail to remove any of the lines filing suit immediately. I will then attempt to settle for deletion of all negitive items. Has any one used this approach before? Many thansk!
I had merged files, my brother in law had at one point in time (before I met my husband) used our address, his name is the same as mine but different spelling, TU and Exp. were VERY quick to remove EVERYTHING from my reports, Efx on the otherhand it took me 6 montths, lots of reinsertions, and at one point in time after requesting an update on personal info, they went as far as to SWAP our reports, I had his, he had mine, upon recieving his report (the one they sent me to show my personal info had been 'updated', but was really his) I noticed they had alot of my accounts on his, which was actually good for him since mine are good. Every once in awhile, I have to fix something, but I keep in mind the fact that I always have this card to play if need be. I have damages, many many turn downs by creditors and can show that I am paying higher interest on my mortgage (7%) if I ever have to sue.
Hi TN Thanks for the post. I have been going through the archives and have read your posts. They are definately helpful. My case is slightly different in that it is only TU (probably because of wk pulls). Again I am planning on disputing everything in one dispute and then filing suit. It should be interesting since it is clear TU is at fault. If they try deleting absolutely everything in my file I will be pxssed. I only have one truly open account but lots of positive but closed tradelines. I have at least one chargeoff that I am sure will rereport(Amex). All in all it WILL be fun! Anyone who is using wk for bumpage realize this is a possibility!
