Does anyone know anything about this bank? How often do they give CL increases and how much? I was just approved for the $1000 CL , no annual fee card. Thanks
I got the same thing, CL and annual fee around 5 months ago. Every 6 months they review for an increase. This bank gets alot of negative posts here because of how they took over the old Nextcard accounts with different terms. Otherwise they are rarely talked about by doing searches. They have been great to me also seems like a good card for someone in sub-prime or those who pay off the balance every month with the no annual fee. Watch after my post someone will complain about them.
Thanks J Vick. That was the reason I asked for some new info. When I did a search, all I could find was negative info. Your info is good to hear.
They suck I had my secured nextcard sold to them. I have had the card almost 2 years. They don't give cl increases, and wont turn the card into a secured. Like most subprime trash. Loyalty and Perfect pay history means shit to them. "Sir, you have to apply for a unsecured card". Not wasting a hard on this shit bank.
I just received an offer for a $750 CL unsecured Merrick card. No application fee, 21.70 APR, no security deposit, and $36 annual fee. Just wondering if anyone else received the same? Or does Merrick offer anything better.
I rec'd same offer six months ago and accepted. Terms are much better than what I had been dealing with. Very pleased with the card so far. Going to try for CL increase soon.
I went to there website and all they offer is a secured or a prepaid card, how do you apply for an unsecured card?
I just got the same offer in the mail. Rate seems high but I have not thrown it out yet. I have not heard of Merrick Bank before today.
I don't care what anyone says... they are great. I jut got another limit increase without asking, this time $200. That makes 3 CLIs in the last year that were automatic. They've been one of my favorite cards, rate is a bit higher than others, but the CLIs make them well worth having in my opinion. I actually like them more than Citi if you can believe that. PS. I also responded to a mail offer.
Oh yeah... you can also get a better rate by calling ... I *think* mine is at 14.99% (or something close to that). still a good 5 points higher than other cards, but much better than Providian could ever do.
