I pulled the wife's Equifax report on Thursday in order to check it for errors. The wife has bad credit, but somehow our Chapter 7 Bankruptcy does not show up on this report. I wish I could make it go away on all of our reports, but 2005 is only less than a year away. 10 years of hell almost over.

Anyway, I attempted to send a letter to Midland Credit Management about an entry on the wife's credit report. I wrote a validation letter and went to the post office. Lo and behold, the address does not exist in the United States Post Office database. The address listed on the credit report does not exist. The zip code did not match. What to do?, how do I dispute this with the credit bureau? If I can't send a letter to validate the debt to this company, I would think it would be easy to remove this based on a false address. Any thoughts?

    Yep...

Go ahead and send the letter, so it is returned with no such address.

Dispute with the CRAs. If they verify request procedures.

Bingo! Proof they didn't really investigate :)
