Does anyone know what score is required to get a prime card like Citibank, Chase, B of A, Target Visa, etc?

My hubby just got Target Visa with a 666 score on EQ. He is 4 years post bk. I got the "requires further process" and I don't have a bk showing on mine :::sigh::

We're focusing too much on our scores and not enough on our actual credit reports. There are companies out there that focus on more than your scores..true, this does seem unbelievable. Your income, employment status, and additional debt does play a factor in whether your "credit material". You could have filed bankruptcy one year ago and have a 850 FICO score, and prime companies still will stop touch you with a 10' pole. On average, prime companies like a score around 650-680+. There are exceptions to this and sometimes it doesn't matter how high your score is: I got denied for Amex's LOC with a 760 and hubby got denied for a Juniper card with a 772. So scores are not everything.

I think I read somewhere that AMEX took scores above 670. I'm not sure about the others.

You have a bk correct? From what I've read, most prime cards automatically deny anyone w/ a bk reporting (Chase, Citibank). Though, some have been able to acquire prime cards through a manual review.

    Good Luck!

I don't know about Chase, but Citi will grant credit to bkers if it is 7 years old or more.
