My girlfriend has been getting calls from a CA that will misrepresent themselve to me or on the voice mail in order to get her to call back. They'll say it's about an interview 'cause they saw her resume..or say they're from a school she applied to...can they do this? should I record their message.. what can be done to stop this?
If you know what company it is & the SOL has expired,then send a cease & desist. Record the calls.They may not hold up in court(depends on the state law),but you can writie a transcript of the calls.This may be considered evidence.If this is a collection agency,then they have violated by misrepresenting themselves,,but you have to prove it. Hope this helps a little.There are others on the board who will be able to add much more to this.....
