Montgomery Wards is bankrupt and out of business, but the account came back as verified. How did this happen or is it that the CRA's are lazy and never verified sending a template letter. Other accounts were deleted, but this came back verified. Any insight, are they in violation? Della
I disputed MWards on a friend's CR and it came back deleted on the two reports we disputed. They were chargeoffs from 98.

It's my understanding that some company takes over the account - so it would be THAT company that verifies. (i.e. I think Household may have taken over UNCB) Good luck with getting the procedural request. Has ANYONE here really received one? (other than the ones where they list a loooong paragraph about how they send it to the creditor and if you have a problem you need to contact the creditor?) Have you sent a validation request CRR to the address listed on the report? Now if it came back "address unknown" then you'd have some real ammo! Mommy2cats
Re: Mont.Wards is bK, but ver'f acc Correct about UCNB. They have not gone away, just taken over by HHB. That's why if you call the service number listed on the old UCNB/new HHB cards and call the service number for the "real" HHB cards, you get two different groups of people.
