Since blue lost the BVG and so does optima, the only reason to keep the amex really was for the
    "prestige" factor.

More told me today they will transfer my optima platinum card to the blue product as soon as I pay the balance to zero.

So off I went to citibank R and got 3.9% for 9 months $0 fee.

This is great since my intro rate on my optima platinum is all over now, and Amex is going to give me an intro rate on the new blue too!

    It can be done ;)

    UNLESS YOUR "GEORGE"

I'm still playing "PHONE-TAG" with my ASSISTANT to the CEO...

I guess I'm going to have to "BREAK" the rules...(NO PERSONAL PHONE CALLS ON COMPANY TIME)...

BVG is not a benefit of Blue anymore, but I thought it remained as a benefit of the Optima Platinum card or did Amex remove it from this card as well ?

gone in a month on the optima's. Only remains on the gold charge (business or personal).

    Too many people raping them.

Imo $75 annual fee to get back nearly $1000 is worth it. If you buy hardware/electronics you can RAPE amex in a year easily :)

That's a good point. I just hope they don't raise the gold annual fee since they raised the fee for the Platinum charge card. I was buying lots of electronics last year, but I'm strapped for cash right now so I've cut back a bit.

Are you sure the BVG is gone from Blue? It's still listed on their webpage as a benefit and I just received my Blue Card on 5/11 and it's still listed as a benefit on all the stuff they sent me.

call up BVG phone # and you'll get the whole story.

only the gold and platinum charge cards will have BVG after june. All optima's will lose BVG in a month.

oh well no big deal, the Gold business charge is first year free. thats what i got for BVG lovin'

Geez - AMEX does the correct thing twice - you getting BLUE / MP getting GOLD.

    Great Sam - again. :)
