More (less, actually) from Sears

My dealings with Sears are now becoming a "quest" ...

Quick update: Sears Premier card since '96 - limit $18k; Sears Gold MC approved 1/02 - limit $250

No one on the phone from Sears Nat. Bank or their processor (TSYS) has been able to do anything (my favorite quote, "well, the system must have thought you were in danger of not being able to handle your bills" ...

my response, "how would it know that - since it (and the credit report/score) don't know or ask what my income is? I could be on welfare [I'm not] or I could make almost $200k a year [I do] and that doesn't factor in anywhere?"

She was a tele-bot and didn't have a response. It was kind of like talking to Providian's customer service.

So, it's letter-to-the-chairman and PFB time.

AND ... the fun part is ... they just upped by Premier card from $15k to $18k ... and lowered the interest to 16.9 (I always use the 0 for a year deals anyway).

"Hello left hand, this is right hand ... whassup?"

    mj,

I have Sears Premier Card with credit limit $6500 and I got approved for Sears Gold MCfor $3500 with 19.49% APR. I tried to get them to lower my APR and they told me they cannot do it.

For the Premier card- regular customer service transferred me to a supervisor. She was great - 20 seconds and she gave that account 16.9, telling me it's a new program they're offering to "our best customers" -- so I guess that's anyone without any lates on their account.

    Call & try it.

She wasn't able to help on the Gold MC except to say "wait- your limit was HOW MUCH?" then she gave me a few addresses to write a letter to.
