Sorry for all the questions, I am just so glad I have found this site. Question 1, I did a balance transfer and now on my credit report it reflects that I have the same balance on two credit cards making my debt high. What should I do? Question 2, After going through and reading everything on this forum I am confused. Are you saying I should dispute everything on my credit reports even if I know them to be true? There are a few occasions where I moved and that caused a problem but other than that everything is correct? Should I still dispute and see if they can verify?
Next month it should be correct. Don't DISPUTE any "GOOD" accounts...(you risk losing it TOTALLY, like I lost AMEX BLUE on EXPERIAN...WANTED CREDIT LIMIT TO SAY $15,500 not N/A)... If you have "BAD" accounts DISPUTE a couple, see what happens..."not mine" or "never late" or "wrong balance". TAKE IT SLOW...
Here's an example. I have 19 "good" accounts, 4 "bad" accounts. The 4 bad accounts were closed over 4 years ago and my 7 years is up fall of 03. Should I just wait? since the time will be up? So I don't risk being flagged?
Many people have only "GOOD" accounts because they DISPUTED all the "BAD" ones off... You have some RISK though...it MAY come back 99 X 30 days...99 X 60 days... 99 X 90 days...99 X 120 days... OR IT MAY BE PAID/NEVER LATE...YOU NEVER KNOW... Sometimes they JUST REMOVE IT...too much bother to investigate...
YOU MAY GET ONE OF THESE... OR IT MAY BE PAID/NEVER LATE...YOU NEVER KNOW... Sometimes they JUST REMOVE IT...too much bother to investigate...
Then I am going to go for it! I should only dispute 1 at a time correct? In addition what is hurting my credit the most according to equifax is inquiries. Should I dispute those too?
What ever you do, don't do more than 3-4 things at one time...AND KEEP IT SIMPLE. Do 2 inquires and one "BAD" see what happens.
