I have friend who is three payments behind on her house payment. She has been off work due to illness and is receiving her checks again just recently. Is there a HUD program that can help her rehab her mortgage. She lives in West Virginia. Any help is appreciated.

I don't know of any HUD programs (cuz I'm ignorant, not because there aren't any) but I would caution your friends against a private "foreclosure avoidance" loan - the terms are often predatory in the extreme. Many mortgage companies have homeowners assistance programs to help delinquent customers catch up and avoid foreclosure. She might also want to see if she can borrow the funds from friends, family, church assistance, etc.

    Good luck to her!

    hud assignment programs.

The mortgage loan probably has to be a FHA insured loan to qualify for the HUD assignment program.

You can try calling HUD direct to find out if your
loan qualifies. Here is an old 800 number : 800-733-3238. You should talk directly to the lender
    regarding forebearance arrangements.
