I was told once you have a mortagae all these great CC offers will start coming in. How long after you receive a mortage will you get good offers. NOt those stupid Capital and First Premier offers.
A lot of it depends on where you live. There are marketing companies that make sales lists and sell them to businesses. They use a lot of different sources of information to compile these lists. One important source is the county courthouse where your mortgage is recorded. How much information is available to the public depends on the county you live. Also, some counties just take a lot longer to actually record the mortgage than others. Some can do it in just a few days, others can take months.
I got a lot of offers for great cards after my home purchase recorded, but not many of them were based on my credit reports. I am in a professional field and subscribe to a lot of journals, trade publications and I attend quite a few conventions and seminars. I find I get superprime credit offers that are sent from mailing lists blasted out to mailing lists. Since I started getting window covering mailings, water system mailings, home security system mailings, carpet cleaning mailings, etc I suspect the credit card companies get a list of new recordings and just start blasting away.
