hi, this my first time posting I've been a luker for some time. I recently started disputing entries on my credit report. I just rec. the update. I dispusted late pays on my mortgage but, experian deleted the entire entry. How can I get it added back to my credit file ? Or do I want to leave off. Also since I've started disputing my score went from 542 to 478 how can this happen. Thanks, in advance for any advice
Removing tradelines can hurt you...even if they are negative. The effect of a tradeline, positive or negative, varies on the total amount of tradelines contained in your file. If you are removing tradelines, your score may be going down as the amount of 'weight' the remaining items varies. Plus, the FICO model, it seems, likes to see a balance of Credit Cards, Retail Cards, Auto/Revolving Loans, and Mortgage. If you are dropping pieces of this equation, ESPECIALLY mtg (which shows 'stability'), it is not suprising your score is going down. I have had luck recently getting credit put on my report. However, sonce this was an item being reorted and you siputed it off, you are going to have to have the creditor do it as the CRA will not. Most likely, your mtg will come back as soon as they update your file (the lender), i.e. after your next payment...may take a few on time payments, a late will pop it back up immediately. If I were you, I would write a 'Polite' letter to the Mortgage lender stating that you recently received a copy of your report and notcied that they are not reporting. Say that you have laways made your payments on time and you would like your info reported on your file. The person who gets this request will most likey just fill out a 'new file report' sheet. On this they will list your account number, payment history, their subscriber #, etc, and fax it in. HOPEFULLY, if your letter hits the right person and they are nice, they will just fill it paid as agreed and send it in, givein you perfect payment status. IF your old mtg line shows back up with lates along with the new one, it will be easier to delete as non-accurate and uplicate. Hope this help!!!!! and be more carefull!!!!!!! Shawn
