Mortgage inquires and score??

    Is it true or not that the scoring models take into account numerous inquires from mortgage companies? Anyone had any experience with this? Thanks for the assistance...

    Your question is general, not specific to one particular mortgage broker/lender. There is no "one" scoring model for ALL mortgage companies and, therefore, is no "one" answer.

    Most lenders claim that, if the inquiries are CODED correctly, then all mortgage inquiries within a certain period of time (I think it's 30 days for mortgages) should only hit you as if they were one single inquiry (to allow a consumer to 'shop around').

    Again, this is not gospel, nor is it a science - therefore, YMMV.
