My sister and I own a home together, bought 5 years ago. I married last year and moved out, she is unable to buy me out of the mortgage. She is currently looking to do a mortgage loan modification due to being laid off and finding a job making about 40% less annually than she was making. On the loan mod paperwork, they want to include my income (taxes filed with my husband) on the modification, however we have our own home (rental) and I want my sister to get the mortgage payment down so she can pay it comfortably on her own now that she has taken a serious pay cut. We submitted paperwork to Nationstar mortgage and they initially told me that I didn't have to submit my income because I don't contribute to the home; of course now they want my income listed or a quit claim deed verification.

Should I do the quit claim deed? My goal is just to get the mortgage payment lowered.
