Hi everyone... I've taken your advise from my previous post regarding a judgement. I called CA today...asked for something in writing regarding what will happen when I fork over nearly 2K... Was told over the phone that judgement would be released and CR's would be updated as "PAID IN FULL SETTLEMENT"..however, nothing states any mention of CR's on fax received... Here is an excerpt of the received fax... PLEASE ADVISE.... This is in regards to Household...yet they are not mentioned in the fax either... June 2, 2003 Mrs...BLAH..BLAH... RE: DELRAY FINANCIAL, INC. vs BLAH..BLAH..BLAH.. Mrs. : Please accept this transmission as evidence of our client's willingness to accept XXXXX in full satisfaction of the judgment granted against you on XX/XX/XX. This offer is good trhough June 12, XXXX at 17:00. Funds must be received in this office by that time. After the instrument (check) clears a satisfaction of judgment will be sent to you for you to record with the county clerk. Sincerely, BLANK & BLANK, LLP Okay... I need some serious advice here... I'm doing this mainly now to get my wifes credit cleared of this.. In previous posts I mentioned that this judgment is not showing up on CR's... Turn's out mortgage co. approved loan amount with just my income, and wife's income and name doesn't even need to be on the loan.. She would just be listed as "Trust of Deed" or something to that effect. However, I think I would like to have her on the title / paperwork anyway.. Please advise... Thanks in advance.. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!
"PAID IN FULL SETTLEMENT" is NOT what you want... You want... PAID/NEVER LATE BALANCE $0 "ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CONSUMER"
You can put your wife on the deed and on the mortgage after the loan is closed. Putting her name on the title is just a matter of going to the title company and paying a few bucks to have them draw up a document and record it for you. Putting her name on the mortgage...once the mortgage is in place, the mortgage company will let you add her name to the loan. From their point of view, it gives someone else to go after if the mortgage defaults. Which is not to say you can't take care of this before the loan closes. Just giving you more options.
Well, given that they're accepting a settlement on a judgment, I'd say he's lucky to get whatever he gets. As it is, it's not showing up on the credit report, so what more is he going to get?
