5 years ago to help mom financially. I pay everything there except the mortagage. when applying for a mortagage, I know that the lender wants to see some type of rent history. How can I show this. Even though I pay other bill (elec, gas, phone, etc....) they are in her name.
Have your mom write a letter stating the facts of your return home. Make sure she puts in there that you paid the utilities, and then have it notarized. That may help you with the lender. BTW, try to have copies of cancelled checks or bank statements showing what was paid, and when.
I would get the letter from your mom and take it the notary. As for copies of the checks, carbons won't cut it, you can write any amount on a check and it goes through to the carbon and never use the check. if you need copies call your bank, if you don't get them in your monthly statments, they have they on file.
