ok, we are set to move in two weeks, i know - i know - not alot of time...

we are moving into a house for one year because we can't clean up our credit fast enough to get into a purchase of a home. we are on a very strick time schedule to get out of the house we are in right now

    the question...

utilities (electric, phone, water, sewar) all want to pull credit reports to establish service. has anyone had any success in not having them pull cr's - i don't want any inquiries on my report, because in one year we will be going for a mtg and those inquiries would still be there

would offering a copy of a recent cr from either of the three cra's be sufficient you think? recent as in the last 90 days?

do you think i could just say, we will pay the deposit don't pull the cr?

    HELP

The inquiries will still show, but they only effect your score supposedly for six months. I doubt they would have an impact on your abitlity to get a mortgage. In my area, utilities transfer service without requiring deposits or anything.

thanks for the reply, i am going from a rather large electric company to a small co-operative

    so we cannot transfer

about this 6 month thing? is that for real? that wouldn't be so bad then!

If you pay a deposit some companies won't pull your credit. If your credit is bad, you'll have to put down a deposit anyway. You could also get a letter from your current utility company about your payment history. Don't know if that would help. But it's worth a shot.

    GIVE THEM A $100.00 DEPOSIT!!!

    A LETTER OF REFERENCE...

WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO NOT GET ANY INQUIRES!!!

Even if you DON'T give SS#...they can "PULL"...

Some others will SHOOT ME DOWN~~~"LET THEM PULL~~~it only HURTS for 6 months...and it's only a few points"!!!

Yep, here in Florida, they give you the option of paying a deposit. One good thing if you go with the deposit, it actually acquires interest while they have it. I don't know a thing about the six month thing.

well personally, i don't trust the cra's as far as i can throw them, so i will NOT trust that it will be on for just 6 months

thanks people, i will just bit the bullet and pay the deposit!

    peace, jimrie
