We recently moved and had to change our address with the CRAs. Time for the 2nd round just happened to coincide with the move. The results remain to be seen, but following is the scenario: 4/14 - Sent out letters to all three CRAs stating change of address with sufficient information for them to process; 4/18 - Sent out disputes; 5/3 and 5/5 for my wife and myself, respectively, received EQ form letters mentioned in other threads: "We received you request concerning your equifax credit file and are looking forward to assisting you. The indentifying info. you provided doesn't match the info currently on the equifax credit file..." "Please resubmit your dispute, the requested info, and this letter to the address above." 5/5 I Also received a new credit report stating that my change of address had been updated... Keep in mind, they have already chewed up two weeks of their 30 days and I would assume have not even started the dispute process! Following is the letter sent off to EQ today on my wife's behalf. I will send a similar one on my account tomorrow: Dear Equifax Re: Address Change To Whom it May Concern, Effective immediately, please change your records to reflect my change of address to the address at the top of this page. I sent in the requested change of address information, in a letter to your agency dated April 14, 2003. Furthermore, we sent you the exact same information for my husband, whose address you have already updated. Apparently the information submitted was adequate for his file, thus it should be for mine! As a result of the above, you are currently knowingly reporting inaccurate information about me, a violation of the FCRA. Furthermore, given that my dispute had all necessary identifying information to conduct your research, there is no excuse why you wouldnâ??t conduct the requested dispute in the time allotted by law, whether or not you thought my address might have changed. As a result, I expect that you will continue with the requested dispute as required under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Moreover, I expect to hear the results of my dispute, at this address, as required by law, at the end of the given 30 day period. If you do not continue the already submitted dispute, as required by the FCRA, and if you do not immediately cease and desist from reporting inaccurate information about me, I will be forced to seek legal remedies against Equifax. Regards!
