I would appreciate it if anyone would let me know how to get in contact with MR. Cook. I am having a huge problem with Capital One, all the reps I have spoken to are a bunch of morons. Capital One referred my debt to ASG Collections, which have never sent me a letter. They have since charged it off. A $179 bill is now $600; with all the fees they charge you, not to mention interest rates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Iâ??m not disputing the debt; I just donâ??t feel like paying all the extra bs that goes with it.

Eugene Cooke will be able to help you. He'll probably waive all the extra fees and have you pay the hard money. I think that 6 months after you pay that you can reapply. Let me know about that one, but I think that's right. He'll put it from an R9 to R5. Make sure that he puts paid in full. Charlie

What does it say about a company when you have to call MR Cooke to get done what customer service should be doing?

    Just a thought

This all depends on the specific situation.

If you're referring to the original posters question, then I would say what the front-line customer service reps are doing (which is probably simply referring the customer to the CA) is what any credit card company would do when a customer calls them regarding a charged-off account that is now with a collection agency, and having a contact like Mr. Cooke who can possibily bring the account back from the CA, reduce the fees, and even give you a better rating at the end (of you paying off the account) is a wonderful asset. I wonder how many other banks would be willing to do for you what he has done for others.

The only thing I find the standard front line customer serivce reps lacking in is power. Power to give substantial credit line increases. A $200 to $500 credit line increase is simply not enough, especially when one only comes along every six months, so in this case I would agree with you.

jrjr35, This month's WORTH magazine puts Cap 1's CEO in the top of all CEO's. Not that it means much though, but I didn't see his name mentioned on the ones headed to Mexico either. mindcrime, You forgot his extension is 6418. ;) Charlie

Where did anybody get that i was somehow downing what mr cooke does...in fact i've said he's a great asset to cap one...What i did say is that it seems alot of other companies CSR's have the ability to do for their customers what it takes a call to the Cap One executive offices to get done with them. And alot of folks who aren't on this board have no idea that a mr Cooke exists..and they gey run around by the people in customer service.

This is a little embarassing to ask at this point because I've been reading so many good things about Mr. Cooke for months now on this board, but exactly who is he? How does he have the power to change things that customer service reps. don't?

Don't know. Don't care. All I know is he just deleted 12 negative tradelines for me. He's the guy you call when you want to get things done; not just talk about it. He's my hero.

Is he an employee of Capital One? A consumer advocate who has connections with credit card companies?

By the way you don´t need to talk with Mr Cooke or Mr Miller only. I called last week to the executive offices and someone else gave me a $1000 increase (I forgot to ask for his name).

We had two accounts that were both Paid Collections. For whatever reason, the Status kept showing up on our reports as anything from 120 days to 180 days past due, though they were both fully paid well over a year ago. After Mr. Cooke had made numerous attempts to correct the listings, all of which failed miserably, he finally agreed that the only fair choice was for Cap1 to simply delete the tradelines completely, as he was very aware that the innacurate listings were on the wrong side of the law. So, after countless phone calls, e-mails, faxes, etc. over a seven month period, the two tradelines were deleted from my three CR's and my wife's (The Lovely Mrs. Quixote) three CR's. Voila! Twelve deletes.
