Has anyone ever had Mr. Cooke remove prior 30 day lates from any of their Cap. One Accts? Also, I have three Gold cards, can they be combined into one card, I'm paying 18 dollars a month in "membership fees"? Thanks for the help. The only reason I am asking is that I spoke with him and he advised he didn't think there was anything he could do.
We have had a number of lates removed, always dealt directly with customer service, or supervisor. The reason was due to accidents and other major life events. Recently received a $1,000 increase on one of my Cap 1's via Mr. Cooke & PFB, customer service was offering only $100.
I had a bona fide issue with Cap 1 that I could not resolve. This dispute/verification process went on for months. I complained through PFB. Mr Cooke called the same day. He was helpful, apologetic, understanding, a true asset to that organization. He promised to have the problems fixed in an expedited fashion. He went on to say that I should see the corrections on my reports within a week! Great, right? Well that has been 6 weeks ago. All 3 bureaus "verified" the inaccurate information again. I think he may be just like the rest of them.
Have you tried calling him back. He can get very busy. Yesterday, he advised that he would have a 30 day late removed. He said it can take 4-6 weeks but he's going to try and have it done within 5 days. Just call him back. He didn't remove both of my 30 day lates, but said he would remove one of them, he also combined my three accounts into one for me.
I have asked him twice to remove one 30 day late from one of my three cap1 cards. My grandfather had passed away unexpectedly and with all the stuff going on I just forgot about it. I have 3 cards, have been a customer since 1999 and have had only this one late payment. It was over a year ago. I can't understand why he won't remove it. He tells me that they cannot submit inaccurate information to the credit bureaus. Am I doing something wrong??
I'm not sure why that happened to you but I'm sure he's human and has his good and his bad days. The great majority of the people on this board seemed to have gotten very far with Mr. Cooke. I couldn't understand why he could take one 30 day off but not the other that was just two months prior but I was still grateful because he didn't have to do even that. Then there are people in your situation that can't get anywhere with a particular person. It's crazy but call him back and ask why, he's very nice as I'm sure you are aware.
it's not always the creditor's fault. When I was suing a large bank, their vp called and faxed their equifax rep directly. that week, the tradeline and 2 of the 3 inquiries were removed but they still missed one inquiry. Remember, the bureaus are often incompetent
