Well, Mr. Cooke kept his word and re-aged my two charge-offs to show R1, never late. My FICO score moved up 81 points from 476 to 557!! My profile now shows: Afni, Collection Acct, Balance: $27.00 (I'm currently disputing this tradeline. I was 17 when it was established and it's not my account). Capital One, R1 Capital One, R1 Cross Country, R9 from 2000, currently disputing Fingerhut, R1 FCNB, R9 from 2000 First Natl Bank, R1 First Premier, R1 Macy's, R1 MBNA, R1 Montgomery Ward, R1 All accounts are closed. I plan on establishing a secured loan through my CU to have an open active account. lb Don't know current Experian and TransUnion scores. Everyone in my area (Washington DC) pulls Equifax and I won't pay for the others.
Now if he can just AGREE that "HIGH LIMIT" is NOT the same as "CREDIT LIMIT" as F.I.C.O. scoring goes...you will have won BIG TIME...
Can you provide a little more detail regarding your situation and your discussions with Mr. Cooke? I spoke with him last week regarding an old debt the CAP1 bought and re-aged so it wont come off until 2007. Just want to get some insight. I'm about to call him back today. Thanks!
Hi javan, I think I happened to get lucky with my two accounts. I spoke with him in October of last year and he gave me until 3/02 to pay (Total of about $1500.00). Initially, he offered me an R5 status, but I said no way. I persisted, he gave in and I got the letter showing I would get an R1 status. The reason why I think I got lucky is because I tried to work out the same agreement for my husband's account last month and Mr. Cooke wasn't able to give me the same deal. The best he could do was R4. Since we are trying to find financing for a car, I accepted the offer. Still waiting on the letter, though. I may send him a follow-up email today. Hope this helps and Good Luck!!!! lb
