Last December, I signed up with MSN Internet service in return for a $400.00 credit when I bought my computer at Best Buy. However, 6 months later, I cancelled the service and just last week I received a letter from MSN notifying me that I must pay them $350.00 in the next 10 days or else my account will be sent to B&D collections. Has anyone had a similar experience with MSN. Are they open to negotiating down the debt? Also, does D&B report the collection to the CRAs'? I'm planning to call MSN next week to pay my debt (I do owe it), but first wanted to see if anyone here had any suggestions/comments on how to proceed. Thanks for your feedback.....
If you do owe it as you say you do then I would suggest that you proceed to pay it at the earliest possible opportunity and before you get sent to a collection agency. If you want more time and are willing and able to make as substantial payment they may defer sending it to collections for a while longer. What we talk about here is help for those who cannot pay, or have not paid for whatever reason and are now in deep trouble. Your message does not sound like you are in that kind of situation.
