A CA (assigned) for BofA is offering to settle for 60% of current balance of charge-off (in 4 monthly payments). I pulled a CR from Experian and in the Account History it shows Charge Off as of... and they proceed to list every month between now and 10/01 (original charge off date). Is this the same thing as re-aging? The "Date of Status" is 10/01 The "Last Reported" is 07/03 Shouldn't the 7-yr clock start at 10/01. By them updating monthly, it shouldn't change the "start" date, correct? At 10/01 the balance was $2148 It is now $3045. I mentioned to the guy on the phone that I would like to have the credit report changed and he said BofA wouldn't do that. They did e-mail a Word document/letter detailing the agreement. I haven't agreed to it yet. He is supposed to be calling me Friday to get me to agree and setup the four payments. After reading many posts here, I guess I need to send a counter offer letter requesting they delete the TL or change to R1? I also need to verify they will not sell remaining balance to CA for later collection (I think the letter said this, but I don't have it with me right now). This guy was much nicer, he seemed to be familiar with the FDCPA. I should have paid more attention, the prior CA for this account threatened me on the phone. When I asked her "did you just threaten me?", she hung up. She called back a week later acting like I must have spoken to someone else. (Note, the guy is with a different CA than the girl.)

Don't offer anything. There is no such thing as r 1 with a ca.
