Ok, where do I start... I have a -$5000.00 Visa card with Pentagon Federal Credit Union, the other day I called and asked for a - $1000.00 dollar credit increase (my thinking was I'm not going to get it... this card was maxed out!) BAM! they gave me the - $1000.00 no questions asked... That gave me the courage to move on to bigger and better things, my CITI... I have two CITI cards, one - $2300.00 other - $3100.00... Called for credit limit increase on the - $2300.00 card... BAM! was approved for - $4700.00 making this card now a - $7000.00 card. I did not get an increase on the - $3100.00 card, but will be combining really soon... Now this gave me the courage for the big one!!!! Amex Blue... Called Amex for an increase on my blue - $2000.00 credit limit... was declined because account is under 6 months. I got a little upset, (because of all my success) so I then tried on-line, (I was kinda scared because the rep. just told me I was declined... but I didn't want to take no for an answer) I clicked the apply for credit limit increase button... filled out the info... then today BAM! - $5000.00 credit limit!!!!! BAM! a total of - $8700.00 in credit limit increases!!!! It must be because it's Christmas!!!! The only card I had for more than 6 months is my Pentagon!
Almost forgot! Got the Best Buy card - $1000.00 got the limit increased to - $2000.00 before I left the store!
Congrats on your CLIs. Really surprised on the Blue as the cs rep said no. There's got to be an angle in there somewhere. How old is your Blue account and what kind of usage? Best regards, Mirage
My blue is 5 months old, and on the $2000 limit I do about $400.00 to $700.00 a month. I pay it off every month.
You better check your reports for inq's. It is my understanding that when you fill out the form on Amex website for an increase, that they pull a hard inq. Congrats on the increases anyway!!
