It is funny how things happen. My ex has my children insured and has apparently been throwing a bill addressed to my daughter in the trash (hoping to ruin my credit somehow???)). i had all my mail forwarded to my new address (when we separated) and by accident the peice of mail for my daughter came to my address.

It is a total of $19 (NINETEEN) for an ER visit, the letter states that it will go into collection if they are not contacted by the 7th. My ex has no intention of paying it, somehow my child is receiving this bill. The letter was dated June 27th and it gives 10 days. My questions are:

1-they are closed on weekends, and today!! Is it 10 calendar days or business?

2-do they really send a bill for $19 to collections.

3-Can I laugh at them for sending this to a minor????

I have money and since my EX won't pay anything, I am going to pay it. I would have from the start. I took her to the ER, but as I said my ex insures her so I don't know if it is his social or my social showing up on this thing (getting ready to close on a house, I don't need credit report issues!).

This is really funny that they address the bill to a minor (grin.) Sure, I'd feel free laugh at them, while you are paying the bill and asking who is listed a responsible for the debt (and SSN).

Yes, I had someone send a medical debt to collections for under $20. It does happen!

It would be interesting to see what happens when they sue and the 7 year old walks into the court room on the trial date?

I finally got in touch with the knuckle heads. They didn't seem to worried about the letter going to a 7 year old!! There was no ss# attached to the account either. So the $20 bucks is paid. She still sucks her thumb too, wouldn't that be a hoot walking into court with her blankie and thumb.
