For anybody that is interested, I started out last March by hiring Junum. I had 47 derogs among the 3 reports. They got me about 18 deletions in 3 months but they also got 4 positive accounts deleted. I then took over myself and actually surprised myself with the success I had. Some derogs took 2, 3 even 4 disputes before they were deleted. 2 accounts I spoke with original creditors. 1 they had reaged it, and I guess they were concerned with their liability that they changed it from a chargeoff to paid in full never late I1. The other one just last week I PFB'd the creditor with a sob story. They said they could only report it as a paid charge off. I wrote back that I thought since the circumstances that led to the charge off were beyond my control that maybe they would have a little compassion and delete it. they said no, but yesterday they did delete it. I am awaiting the final result on the demand for removal that I sent to the cra with proof that gulf schmucks, I mean gulf state couldn't validate. They did a reinvestigation, which I did not ask for, Gulf state has until next Tuesday to verify, but they never do, so it should be off then. That is the last one. So, the moral of the story is that anyone with a little motivation and devotion, can accomplish the same thing.
So would you recommend Junum? I really want to get the ball rolling on my husband's credit situation.
NOOOOOOOO!! Read the recent posts on Junum, do a search. I wasn't happy when I had them about 6 months ago and they are worse now. You will be getting out of the pot into the frying pan. After this company you just used try it on your own. Everyone here is very helpful.
To be honest, I haven't applied for anything in months. The last thing I applied for was a student loan to finish up my MCSE and I got it for prime + 0 pts. which came out to 6.25%. And I just had a cc apr reduced to 9.9%. I'm waiting for next week for this last derog to go bye-bye before applying. Also, I haven't received a pre-approval in the mail in almost 6 months. I have no idea why.
I was lost (when I found this board by accident, while trying to find a credit card to apply for *oops*) but now I'm found. I have learned so MUCH valuable information it's unreal. I have a long ways yet to go, you can tell by my scores, but these folks are a godsend they will answer just about anything you can think of. If they can't answer it, they will bump your post so someone else will. And I get private email help as well. Everyone is friendly. That's why I'm on here reading and checking every 15 minutes.
Congrats, LKH! You are an inspiration to all of us. With the info on this board you can really do it yourself. Good luck, but please don't leave. Your input is appreciated.
wow! you have had 47 deleted, thats great, if its not to much can you list your 47 and if they were actually paid or unpaid and removed, I dont have that many but mine are all unpaid and wanted to see what chances I have
All those classes are overpriced. I started about 2 1/2 years ago. Took me quite awhile. I also got my MCSE in 4.0 and I am not taking the new classes either. I'm actually waiting for the webmaster classes that were supposed to start in Sept. but not enough interest so they cancelled it and haven't rescheduled it yet. I'm also having a hard time trying to find work in this field. when I first started with the classes there were tons of computer related jobs, this last sunday there was 3. That sucks after $12,000 worth of classes so far.
Star, of the 47, a lot were duplicates, like the origianl creditor and then a ca, both showing. For the most part, my deletions have been unpaid. I did have several that were paid, and to be honest, it is more difficult to get paids deleted than unpaids. It is not that difficult to get those things removed. Of course, I did have that minor interruption with the local experian affiliate and I had to sue them last Sept. That got my experian report cleaned up. They reinserted a deletion but couldn't show me certification from the creditor. They wouldn't delete a few collections that were not mine. And a duplicate they refused to delete. But, in the end they did delete them. All I can tell you to do is to dispute and send out validations where appropriate. Send everything by certified mail r/r/r. If the you catch the cra's on FCRA violations and they refuse to delete, sue them as long as you have your paper trail.
LKH... That's awesome. I started my repair this past May with the help of folks like yourself on this board. Since then, my scores have all gone from sub-500 to near or over 600. The only negs I've got left are student loans that will be rehabbed in 4 months and a pesky Chapter 7 from 1998 that doesn't seem to be hurting me as much as it once did. Folks like yourself and those on this board prove that it can be done with some effort and patience. Congrats. Tom
Hey LK, could you go in a little detail about deleting the paid collections? I have one or two of those myself (one with providian...they're tough) and was hoping for some inspiration!
The only thing I can suggest is the usual. Keep disputing with the cra's. You can also try sending a validation to the collection agency. Wait a week or so after mailing, and then dispute it with the credit bureeaus. If the ca can't validate an account, then they can't report the account and you can pressure them to delete it. Do a search for validation here and you will find a ton of posts on this subject. Any more questions, just ask. Good luck.
