    Hello again everyone:

I've given alot of thought to my current credit situation, and have resolved to myself to do the following to improve my situation:

    - Pay off remaining Collection Account and Judgement during 2002
    - Maintain good credit standing on my 3 sub-prime low limit cards, requesting advances at 6 month intervals
    - Pay off car (installment) 4-5 months early
    - Prohibit myself from applying for ANYTHING for the next 12 months, despite how "lucky" I may feel by hearing of the success stories of others (inquiries inquiries inquiries)
    - Continue to dispute inaccuracies on my credit reports until they are finally corrected to reflect my true credit-worthiness

I'm sure I'll think of others, but this'll have to do for now!

    lol

    I pledge to:

-Pay more monthly on my Credit loan(Bought a new Galant last weekend!) than the minimum.

-Pay all credit cards on time (have been for past 18 months) and start charging so much)

-Put store cards in a drawer to collect dust.

-Pay more on my student loans

    -Continue to fight Experian

-Get my credit score to a 720!

    My pledge:

Make an additional 50% payment on my car loan each month.

Pay off my Cap One - $891.00 Within 4 months. Then ask for an Increase of $500.00

Obtain one more card - probably secured.

Continue to fight the CRA's and collectors to get my FICO to 600 (yes I know that is low) within 12 months.

#1 - NO MORE INQUIRIES. Yeah, I said this before, but I'm really serious this time.
#2 - Combine my two MBNA accounts.
#3 - Close Sears (limit too low) and Rooms to Go (I only owe them $360, but it's 0% til 2003)

I would also like to close some accounts (general reduction in number), but all of the rest are prime cards at good rates, and I'm having a real hard time deciding which ones I can do without.

Find a good, low rate home improvement loan so I can remodel my kitchen for my birthday present next September.

    My goals:
-Continue to dispute dispute and dispute the remaining 6 neg items on my reports.
-Save as much money as we can for our downpayment on our home we plan on buying in 2 more years
-Continue to pay down my citibank card till zero balance(4600 more to go was 5800 a year ago)
continue to use my other cards and pay them off in full every month.
-Try to pay more than the car payment
try to pay for christmas all in cash and stay within my budget
-1 more payment until my charged off cap one card is payed off, was 1700 last july 00 and today is 262.00 due sept 30th and then they are giving me a new card with a 2000 dollar limit:)
Try very hard not to be tempted to applying for anymore credit till my reports are pretty much clean.
Up my credit score to 650 or above, right now it is at 605 up from 561 last March:)

    Melissa,

It's good to see your post.

Good work with CapOne! I bet you'll do some celebrating when that old account is paid off.

Oh, and when CapOne does issue you a new card, be sure to talk them into decent terms. Don't get socked with an annual fee or an interest rate that is too high.

And, to keep this on topic, my credit goals are to pay the balances down on my accounts and to refrain from applying for anything for at least the next six months. Then, I want to combine my two CapOne cards and upgrade to platinum.

    My 3 Resolutions:

    1. Pay off my credit cards (debt total $9600).

    2. Buy a new car by paying cash!

    3. "Execute" Providian management with a SuperSoaker Shotgun (water damage). I discovered today that retention offers no more upgrades, including apr reductions and credit line increases. Management must be held accountable!

If you did not find number 3 funny you can kiss my *ss. I hate Providian!

My credit goals for the rest of the year. Will make new plan come January 1, 2002.

    1- No new inquiries
    2- No new inquiries
    3- No new inquiries
4- Draw up payment for deletion on 2 collection accounts totalling ~$6000.
5- Ask for increase on current card. Don't pay a fee for it.
    6- Dispute, dispute, dispute.

Currently my scores are TU-500, Experian (via CE)- 557, and Equifax- 544. Hopefully my scores will go up with no inquiries, higher limit, paid collections, and deletions (I hope on the deletion thing).

    FELICE-

You may want to give Planetfeedback.com a try w/providian. I had two unsuccessful rounds w/ (anti) retention...gave the CEO a piece of my mind using planetfeedback and got my apr reduced from 25 to 16, annual fee waived, upgrade to gold, and grace period. So I have now upgraded Providian from sucks to okay, and PLANETFEEDBACK IS AWESOME!!!

OK, now on to my goals.

    1) Credit Card Debt free by this time next year

    2) Get a prime card or even better yet, an AMEX (I too would eventually like to pay cash for nearly everything and stop giving the financial industry and those vermin CRAs my business)

    3) Be more aggressive w/my 401K investments

    4) Save to put a big, big downpayment on a cost effective, reliable car in two-3 years.

Credit Man is Jokers to the left, Jokers to the right:

Out on the street I was talkinâ?? to a man
He said "thereâ??s so much of this life of mine that I donâ??t understand"
You shouldnâ??t worry yes that ainâ??t no crime
Cause if you get it wrong youâ??ll get it right next time (next time).

You need direction, yeah you need a name
When youâ??re standing in the crossroads every highway looks the same
After a while you can recognize the signs
So if you get it wrong youâ??ll get it right next time (next time).

Life is a liar yeah life is a cheat
Itâ??ll lead you on and pull the ground from underneath your feet
No use complaininâ??, donâ??t you worry, donâ??t you whine
Cause if you get it wrong youâ??ll get it right next time (next time).

You gotta grow, you gotta learn by your mistakes
You gotta die a little everyday just to try to stay awake
When you believe thereâ??s no mountain you can climb
And if you get it wrong youâ??ll get it right next time (next time).

    Here are my goals:

    1. To keep paying more than the minimum on all of my accounts (even if it's by $5....I think it makes a difference).

    2. No new inquiries on Equifax. I'm trying to get Am/Ex and don't want to ruin that.

    3. Exercise my current accounts and get higher limits w/o a fee or hard inquiry (I'll try to hang tight GEORGE!).

    4. Get my Equifax score above 650. Right now it's at 601 (maybe higher since I've gotten 1 deletion since I checked it).

    5. After everything is settled, monitor my credit reports every 4 months to ensure accuracy.

    6. Get rid of both Providians by 6/02 as I will probably not need them anymore.

I'm sure I've left out a few more things but this will due for now.

Gosh, I guess we are all making a liar out of Phinneous Fogg - Look how we deadbeats are resolving to pay off accounts, make more than minimum payments etc.

Obviously his charm and persuasion have changed us all.

To continue to exercise my credit to the utmost.
To continue to get lower and lower rate offers.
To continue to get higher and higher limits.
To boldly go where no man has gone before.

    Resolutions in September? Why not?

    Mine are incredibly simple:

    (1) Make all payments on time.
    (2) Don't use subprime cards.
    (3) Don't take cash advances.
    (4) Validate and dispute two collections on Experian report.

Other than that, I'm counting on higher income and the passage of time to solve my credit problems.

I'm paying off cc debt at a rate of $1300 a month, more when the budget allows. Will continue thru early spring if I can stand not being a 'consumer' for that long.

When it's paid off I will treat myself to a brand new Honda.
