Can someone please advise me? I have been disputing several items with Equifax since October and have successfully had a few accounts deleted. My positive tradelines I did not dispute at all. I have a subscription to their credit watch thingy and tonight pulled a new report. All of my tradelines are gone, except for 2 new ones that showed up with gas cards that previously had not reported to them. Everything is gone, inquries, previous employment, and most importantly, all my positive AND negative tradelines. What is going on? Has this happened to anyone else?
This happened to me with TU. I was trying to purchase a car at the time and this is how it was brought to my attention. I think it ended up being some sort of glitch in their computer system. Just about everything came back. I think the only thing that did not come back were the old inquiries. If I remember correctly, I think I also ended up with two files. When I called TU, the rep. was stunned, but could not do anything about it. I did request a copy of my non-existent file. Sure enough half a page, the only thing were the two inquiries the dealership pulled trying to find my file. Give it a couple of weeks to a month. It will most likely come back. I don't think anyone has ever had their filed purged permanently. Couldn't get that lucky! LOL
Your credit file could be separated into two files. You need to call them and ask if they show two files. This has been happening a lot at Equifax for some unknown reason. Now, you may think thats a good thing, especially if the negatives are not showing, but when a creditor pulls your file, it pulls everything so its best to get them merged back together so that you can get an accurate score. Hope this helps.
Thanks Coco, I'm sure you're right, it should correct itself soon. If anything I now have 2 files. Great!
Oh, thanks drmgirl6, I had no idea. I will give it a week or two since I am waiting on some dispute results, so I will see what they send me and go from there. I appreciate your help.
