I have a stupid $20 chargeoff that is supposed to fall off in Oct. I've disputed it the max. of twice online with Experian but it keeps coming back (and updating the charge off, status, etc... dates to that of the current month). I sent them a letter regarding the changing of the dates each month but it still is not showing up as in dispute online so I don't know if they're ignoring it or what. Anyway.....here's my trick. I requested an investigation on that account and clicked on "Add your own statement" from the pull down list. Then I chose something acceptable from the list they provide. Presto, it's now listed back in investigation. Hope this helps anyone who is maxed out on their EX disputes.
Thanks for the tip. It makes me crazy how those dates keep updating. I sent them letters too even showing copies of a report from 2000 where they had a different date. No change. I have found that sometimes if you use different report numbers that you've gotten and saved then you can dispute the same item even after you've maxed out on one report. Maybe it because the report number was assigned before the two other invesitgations. I don't know. You go to "requst an investigation" on the EXP main page and put the number in. Then follow the instructions and the report will come up eventually.
