I just went to Dell's site and I guess the leas option no longer exists. I was looking at their very low end box called a Dell Dimension 2200. It comes with a Celeron 1.3 GHz processor, 128MB Shared SDRAM at 100MHz , no speakers, 20GB Ultra Hard Drive (7200RPM), 3Yr Ltd. Thanks a lot for your help! I will look into that later, but I think the $1720 price is crazy, especially as my beau just got a Dell 8200 series with 17" trinitron monitor, 256 memory, dvd player, CD rd-wr with the fax/scanner/copy machine/printer all in one for a total of $1800. Of course, there are a million other things his system has that I dont even know of, or understand what they mean, but all in all, his deal seemed better and I dont think I need everything he has anyway....

but as I said, thanks for the research, I will check out the site later!

I think I may opt to get a new battery for my Compaq Laptop for now! Atleast its faster than my desktop and I can use it while I save the $ to buy the Dell upfront 100% paid in full....

That sounds like the best course of action for my situation....

    Ness-
I financed with Gateway, 90 days same as cash with a 27.99 go to rate. I paid it off within the 90 days, 3 months isn't s great as 6 months, but it's better than the automatic 27-28% interest rate.

However be forewarned, Gateway's customer service is the pits!!!

    Thanks for the help everyone!

I was really only interested in buying a Dell, but to tell you the truth, I have a feeling once they finish clearing up my CR (there are mistakes) my score should go up a bit and I may qualify @ a better rate....It doesnt matter anyway, as I said I have a laptop that just needs a new battery and I may just opt to do that. In the meantime, I'l save the cash to buy the computer outright!

But thanks again for all the info and advice!

That's what I am going to do. Why do I want to make them rich? They can keep their outragous % rate and I will keep my money earning a small %.

    Smart Thinking!

    Dell gets cheaper everyday.
