Well, I have in my hands my personal Innovis file. It arrived in a regular business sized envelope marked "Personal & Confidential" from P.O. Box 219297, Houston, TX 77218-9297. Important note: We can kill off the idea here and now that Innovis is a repository for only negative information. I realize that this runs counter to the prevailing rumor here on Creditnet, but my report disproves that belief. Some details: 1) When Innovis claims that they don't yet have a complete database, they certainly aren't kidding, at least in my case. My report has only three items; many others are missing. 2) If you have a Chase credit card, you're likely to have an Innovis file. Two of my three notations are for my Chase card -- one is for my [former] Gold MasterCard, and the second is for my [current] Platinum MasterCard to which I upgraded. The third item is for a bank that bought up a previous line of credit I had with NBC Bank and have since closed. 3) Innovis did include the requisite notices, forms, and other requirements mandated by the FCRA -- including a toll-free number to call if I have questions (1-800-540-2505), a dispute form ("Consumer Request for Investigation"), and a summary of my FCRA rights. This is a pleasant surprise, needless to say, because I had completely bought into the Creditnet conspiracy that Innovis was a repository for negative information, that Innovis ONLY cataloged negative information, and that I might expect to see negative items that I had successfully disputed with other CRAs. None of this proved to be the case. I will say, however, that I had to fight for the report. When I telephoned them originally, I said something like this: "Hi, I'm a consumer in Tennessee, and I'm aware that Innovis is an FCRA-compliant credit reporting agency. Under federal law, I am entitled to see a copy of my credit file. I also understand that you do not provide such reports online to either consumers or to potential or current creditors, but I want to view my report regardless. Finally, I understand that you are currently building your database, but still, I am entitled to see what you have on me." I literally rambled that way until the woman said, "Ok, what's your social security number, name, and address?" I had called a few months ago unsuccessfully, so this time I wasn't going to take no for an answer. Interestingly, they did NOT charge me for the report, even though they are certainly entitled to charge a reasonable fee if they so desired (in the range of $8 to $14 or so), and they did NOT require me to put my request in writing. I'm aware that others have recently requested their reports as well. It will be interesting to see what those look like. Doc
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! Ok, just called Innovis to get my report© Got the "we don't have credit files" crap© I said my friend has just got his© I then asked whether I should file a lawsuit and enclose his report as Exhibit A© The poor rep quickly changed her tone and asked where they should send me my report© Saar
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! I called last week and got the "we don't keep reports on individuals" line.I am calling agian in the morning.... __________________________________________________If we all called innovis in the next 2 days, hmmmm, i wonder how busy they would be getting out all those reports....2,000 in 2 days is a lot.
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! How many of us have called in the last hour or so? I'm not getting any answer at that 800 number - just keeps ringing.
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! I called last week (can't remember the day). Supposedly mine is on the way. The person argued with me also then finally asked for name, SSN, and address.
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! Yep, mass-calling would be in order© Toll-free, no hold time© Operators are waiting for your call© Be sure to post your results, and don't even think about buying their lame "we don't have credit files" BS© Saar
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! They are very stubborn indeed. You really have to press the fact that you understand your rights under the FCRA. They were insisting that I request it in writing for "verification" purposes. I said what do you need in writing that I cannot provide over the phone? The rep gave a big sigh and said what`s your Name, address, and ssn..you`ll here from us in 7-10 days. She actually hung up on me! So much for customer service..lmao.
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! Just got home and what do you know...a letter from Innovis. Dear Consumer, We have received your request for a copy of your Innovis credit report. We are unable to access a credit report at this time with information that you have provided. Our operational systems do not contain any information about you. Innovis is developing a credit database and currently Innovis does not provide on-line credit reports to businesses where you apply for credit, insurance, or employment. We are hopeful in the near future we can be of assistance to you. If we can of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at 800-540-2505. Two things bother me: 1) they mispelled my address (could this be the reason they couldn't locate information?). 2) the letter has no signature. There is a fax number on the letter and it's 281-504-2594.
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! Killer, given that they only listed 3 of my 56 tradelines, it's quite possible that they simply don't have a file on you at all. I'd certainly call them up to clarify though. Doc
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! I got mine 2 days ago. I sent a letter in to them and they sent me the report in the mail. There is only one tradeline and it is for ford credit, but it says it is a revolving line and I have never had a loan thru ford, ever. Banks and gmac and mitsubishi but not ford. My hubby had one through ford so I may have to see if somehow that got on mine but it doesn't make sense, we do not even have the same last name. Cindy
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! I just called and I have to call back between 8 and 5 pacific time.
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! Most important... what are we going to do about this. How can we get these guys exposed? Everyone send a letter to Attorney General?? Congressman, what? These guys need to play by the rules and I think we need to step up to bat. Whats up Doc?
I just tried them. The woman gave me the party line and said they don't give reports. I told her that several friends had them recently and as they didn't provide one to me when they wrote to them awhile back I would produce one from a friend when I filed suit as evidence. She said no one was there to talk to me now and someone would get back to me within the hour. Hasn't happened yet. I'm calling back in a few minutes.....
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! Saar presents: How to get your Innovis credit report in 30 seconds TM (where are those copyright signs when I need them now?) <pick up the phone> <call Innovis> "Hello Innovis, Could we bypass your initial script, designed to pretend you do not maintain credit reports, and proceed right on to sending me my report? Thanks!" <click> Saar
Re: My Innovis Report Is In Hand ! I am another who can testify they have information and you can get your report. I received mine today. It contains only ONE "listing" and it is positive. What most caght my eye was the line at the bottom of page one - "We are developing a database and currently Innovis does not provide on-line credit reports to businesses where you apply for credit, insurance, or employment." My question is..."and you make money...how??" It sure looks like you make money selling the collected data: www.innovis-cbc.com/products.htm Though it says under Fail Safe - "unfavorable", I see nothing unfavorable about the listing in my report. I wonder if just having a listing with Innovis is considered "unfavorable"...maybe I should dispute this. Also I found this interesting: www.innovis-cbc.com/about.htm -Peace, Dave
