Hello there, I just wanted to formally introduce myself. I have been reading this board for a few months and have posted a few questions recently. Apologies if they have been dumb or repetitive. Just a short summary of my credit hell. While going to college, I opened up two credit cards. One from Citibank and the other from Capital One. One was for tuition, the other for other expenses like books, etc. My father was to pay for these, we figured it would be a good way for me to build my credit. Things were going great until he remarried and stopped paying them. Unfortunately, without letting me know. I finally found out months and months later when I started receiving collections notices (the statements were sent to my fathers house). They had tracked me down to my house. I completely panicked and agreed to settle. (Wish I knew then what I know now!) So here I am now, trying to get strategies on how to get those paid chargeoffs off my report. Also a filed judgment off, that I knew nothing about until now. (My fiance paid it last year, not telling me about it.) I just wanted to say thanks for this board, it's great. Sorry about being long winded. Just wanted to put myself out here without everyone wondering "whose this schmuck that keeps posting?" Thanks again!
