Well first at 9:00 am I see a call from Cedar Falls, UT, it's amex asked to speak with hubby, he was approved for the Delta card. I told her he wasn't here, her voice turned rather rude and asked when would he be in then, I said he's on the road won't be back for days, she said FINE then I will send him a letter to the address I have and hung up?? Geeze what a welcome call, do they get comission on what they sell on welcome calls???? Then the phone rings again this time they ask for him by first name only, I said the same thing and she says this is Dianne from EMCC and since he is such a good customer they have an offer he can't refuse LOL ( sound familiar breeze??) She gave me a number he could call, yeah I pretended to write it down LOL, she said he will want to hear this NOT.
I normally just ask, who's dis? They normally try not to tell me and keep asking me is "leo728" in. I then say nope, but you can leave a message lol. If it's a legit call they normally do leave a message. If it's a cold call to sell me stuff they normally say they will call back. If I am in the mood to play around I will then proceed to ask who is calling, which by law they have to answer, then I tell them to put me on there do no call list.
ROFLOL!! Hey Mom, good way to start a Saturday, huh? The old "may I ask who's calling?" works fine. It was probably telemarketing. They do have to answer that question. Incidentally, I bought the little buttom thingy that says we don't accept that kind of call please take us off your list. Don't even have to talk to them. Mom is a trip, she stands there and pounds the button over and over. I think I will buy a couple extra - she will wear it out soon. Got it in Big Lots for $1.99!!!!!! Sells on the net for $20.
Some one called here the other day . Wanted to speak to my wife. Told them she wasn't here and asked if I could take a message for her. They said there was no message. Next time it happens I'm going to ask them why they called when when they didn't have anything to say:
My wife talks on the phone for her job 40+ hours per week and WON'T talk to anybody (EXCEPT FRIENDS AND RELATIVES)!!! She told me to take ALL her calls... SHE EVEN TOLD MR COOKE (CAPITAL ONE) TO TALK TO ME... HE DIDN'T LIKE THAT!!! Nice man... Even though he wouldn't do anything about her "PRE-APPROVED" DENIAL.
