I know this is a long process, but here is my plan of attack and please critique it, and let me know if there is anything I can do to improve my technique or leverage. 1. Current Credit Card: I owe about $900 and i'm 180 days late! The account has not gone to collection, and i'm looking to pay in full and retain this account for credibility sake. I'm hoping by still using this account (and not closing it because of past deliquent) I can still use this as a positive. Your thoughts on this? 2. Car loan I've had 3 semi positive car loans in the past (but very short payment history -- most is 6months) The one negative car loan had been charged off by the bank to the sum of 4K. I have had this amount garnished and it has been paid in full. What is my best recourse of fixing this?? I can't dispute this as they already have my money. Should I just send a letter saying the credit report is wrong to charge this as a charge off, since the original debt was paid by garnish? 3. Collections I have about 6 accounts that are in collection from 97 to 03. The amounts are very small (average $150) I will send each a letter of dispute. If I came back as valid, I will offer a settlement letter with removal. How effective is my method of trying to get my score from 553 -> 650? Thanks a lot in advance
on the letters that I send for the CA's, do I send them to the CA's directly first or the Credit report agency (equifax, etc..) ??
Dispute them with the CRAs as 'not mine' and send letters to the CAs demanding validation under the FDCPA.
Do I send both letters at the same time? I thought I was to send the letters to the OCs first as to dispute the validity of the charges?
