I officically began my credit rebuild in Oct 01...and thanks to advice of all the wonderful folks here. I am pleased to report my progress.

I have seen increases in my credit score having gotten some inaccurate negatives deleted from my reports

Experian pre dispute 589 post dispute 647
Equifax pre dispute (CreditXpert) 587 post dispute 649 BEACON
Transunion pre dispute 661 post dispute 667

I have these successes and failures credit card wise
    FCNB(secured) CL $600 for $200
Capital One (secured) CL $500 for $99
MBNA and Citi denied...I am considering asking for reconsideration for MBNA.

But I am not done...I understand now that this is an ongoing process. I am not giving up! Thanks to all of you for your insights and expertise.

How do you like FCNB? Do they report unsecured? What report did they pull? Good to hear about your improvements, hopefully I can say the same things some day about my improvements. Congrats

    Congratulations on your progress!

Was that Citi denial for the post-CCCS card we discussed a while back? If so, was that application made before all of these deletions? When I got my Citi-CCCS card, I waited a month or so after geting a bunch of deletions before I sent in the application. I din't want to have a bunch of activity going on when they looked at my CR. No science behind it, just intuition. Even though we got aproved, I'm not sure I was right. You may want to have them reconsider if it was denied before all the deletions.

BP...I have had no problems so far with FCNB. They pulled EX for me and it does not report secured.

Impatient me..applied for Citi online while I had some items in dispute hoping they would pull Experian but pulled Equifax..which I had not started on yet. I PFB'd them after I put some of the items in dispute to asked for reconsideration...again no. I didnt contact the folks at CCCS...thought I could do it on my own. Guess not.

Try asking for reconsideration again, but this time make sure they get some documentation from you that you've completed your CCCS program. I think I would try calling and talking to a real person rather than sending PFB mail or any other correspondence, then faxing or CRR mailing the info to whoever you talk to. What's the worst that could happen, nothing?
