Just thought I'd let everyone know that I tried a code that was supposed to expire back on Sept 15(code PVN814) and it still works as of today.

BTW, this lets you pull your report for $9.99, as opposed to the usual $12.95.

Code PVN814 still works today. Save yourself 3 bucks! This was the first time I actually pulled my real FICO score. I was pleased to see that it was 593 vs. PG's 557. Still not great, but much better than I was used to seeing. Now after a little *B* maybe I'll be over the 600 hump.

20% of $12.95 is 10.36. PVN814 gets you $9.99. I know it's not really that much of a difference, but when you buy all 3 - and maybe do it twice, maybe more a year, it's a little more noticeable.

    Mongrol,

Don't get bummed out about your scores. You are checking too fast. Give it a couple of months so that balances go down a bit, the accounts ages, and available credit increases. It takes a little time unless you have some negatives that you can get off.

Re: Re: Re: Myfico discount codes

I realize that I am checking often, and I can't wait till the end of the month to check again, but here is a couple of questions for you all....

should I pay off my Amex and Providan charge off on tax day? They still report every month. Balance is about 2500 -3500 for both.

Should I pay off my Hyundai motor finance ? I owe about 6 grand on my car and is one of my installment payments. Would this help my score?

Which would help my score more?

It's not really the thread for this - I suggest you start a new one posing these questions.

Quickly, I'd say pay off unsecured credit and let the secured loans (car, mortgage) be. Utilization is only important for your revolving (unsecured) credit.
