Just pulled my scores today: 763 Transunion 673 Equifax 653 Experian Now, there still was some erroneous info on my file. I was told by the Transunion rep that to get my true score, I would have to purchase from them. My dispute was, my Sears account ($0 balance, 9 years old), was not showing up on my account. She then counters that it was showing up on her screen, as well as 6 others that were not showing up onmy end using MYFICO (?????). Which leads to the question, are the scores from MYFICO the same if you were to pull from the individual companies? I became more suspect after noticing that MYFICO is a division of FairIssac who generates the scores for EQUIFAX. Do they also generate scores from Experian and Transunion??? Thank you, TD
Each CRA has a "true" FICO Score available, it is not the same as the "score power" or "credit expert" scores that they try to sell you. The only "true" FICO scores are available from www.myfico.com PS: there is a discount code to use to reduce the cost to $9.75each instead of $12.00 each. Ibelieve the code is "MYFICO20" maybe someone else will advise!
The banks will use a FICO score from one or more of the 3 major CRA's In other words, you have a FICO score from each one of the CRA's. Which one a particular bank will use will vary according to bank policy, location, etc.
Thanks. So it is best then to get your score from the individual institution for Transunion and Experian. The Equifax score would be the only one from myfico that would be the same if you pulled from Equifax, since it too is an affiliate of Fair Isaac. So, is the MYFICO algorithm more generous than the individual reports? Or are they (TU & EXP) redefining there code to be more stringent, thus ENCOURAGING banks to use there's, while consumers remain in allusion by myfico "superiority" and quality? TD
you are right..what's commonly know as a FICO score is your score from EQUIFAX HOWEVER, Transunion, and Experian also will give you your FICO score based on the info in their files... when you order your 3 FICO Scores from www.myfico.com, you are getting your "true score" from each CRA compared to other scoring systems (creditexpert, or score power) your true FICO Scores may be higher or lower
