What affect does changing your name (i.e. marriage) have on your credit reports? Does if cause confusion, or is it simple? Should I fax a copy of the certificate to the credit bureaus?
Well...I would do so...otherwise they will have a hard time ID'ing you if you apply for credit or try to order copy of cr. I did first and last name change and there is still confusion to this date becuase I didnt do this. Ended up with a 3 way split on 1 cra and a split on another. I havent bothered to fix this one because the "new file" is clean...hee hee. Anyhow, if you want to clear up any confusion, just send them your updated info. and change it with the creditors.
