Name doesn't match SSN?

I just talk to supervisor. She said that they cancelled my credit card app, since my name doesnâ??t match SSN in the records. How is this possible? What should I do next? Should I let know SSA?

No they don't want to provide me any further informations. They just said your name doesn't match SSN and we cancell your app.

I donâ??t know, I guess I should have to wait for denial letter, and then request reports from all of 3 CRAâ??s to see whatâ??s going on, unless someone have better idea. Thanks

I guess they pulled report. How would they check if they didnâ??t? This was app for BofA. Recently I got Wells Fargo credit card, and didnâ??t have any similar problem with my name and SSN. Actually Wells Fargo misspelled one letter in my first name, but they corrected on a new card.
When I spoke with supervisor, wasnâ??t she supposed to tell what kind of problem is (wrong name or wrong SSN) or itâ??s up to them to provide me with that information? Since she was not much for talk, she just said your name doesnâ??t match SSN and thatâ??s it. She said I should send them copy of my SSN, but at that point I thought itâ??s waist of my time, so I just said I donâ??t wonâ??t to bother with that. Maybe I made mistake not sending copy of SSN, but now itâ??s too late.
How come this could be possible that my name doesnâ??t match SSN? Someone else is using my SSN or what?
