Got auto family coverage with Nationwide for 6 months, paying on a monthly basis. Was out of work and was late paying the 5th month premium. Nationwide cancelled after the 5th month. I got other coverage, however, NCO keeps calling threatening to report me to the credit bureau saying I owe a month's premium of $285. What should I do to offset a negative bureau listing? Thanks for all responses.
If the month you owe is for the fifth month , the easiest way would be to pay it.. If the Bill is for the 6th month.. You would not owe because they canceled it..
Just make NCO pay the debt and take it off your credit report too. That gets rid of two problems all at the same time. If I've made NCO pay the bill once, I've made them pay the bill a dozen times or more and they never learn.
This is unearned premium, Nationwide should have billed her for it. She doesn't say whether they did or not. If not, she has a legitimate complaint for her state's insurance department to investigate.
