I have been reading this board for some time now thanks to advice from my big brother and I must say that this board is heaven sent!!!!
If only I knew then what I know now... which brings me to my question...
I opened a credit card from MBNA in 1999 which was eventually chargedoff and sold to Portfolio Recovery in 2000(did a search on them and read all threads). After numerous nasty collectoin attempts for about a year, I heard about and sent them a cease and desist letter. Shortly, after that I received a letter in the mail from a local law firm-Notice of right to cure default (a requirement before legal action can be taken in my state). Scared to death of being sued ( just like they wanted me to be), I contacted the law firm and set up payment agreements to pay the intiial balance of the credit card (stupid) with no interest. Which I thought was a deal.ha
This account is being reported on my cr as a chargeoff from MBNA as well as an open chargeoff/collection from Portfolio Recovery. Since it is being cured by a law firm, can it be reported as open with POrtfolio Recovery? I have sent dispute letter to all three off the CRA including this and other info being disputed.Playing the thirty day waiting game...

What if anything could I or should I do?
Sorry such a long post...any advice for a newvbie would be greatly appreciated.
