to send to TU...i disputed alot of accounts that are not showing 0 balance after BK. They wrote me back asking for the list of creditors and bk papers. I did a search on the board and found out that I should not send them these papers, but what do I send them telling them "do your own work"?? Does anyone have a letter that has worked? Thanks

"Do your own work" sounds good.

you might try looking this one over.
Most likely it would have to be reworded somewhat to make it fit your particular situation, but there seems to me to be some possibility that you might be able to modify it and use it.

It's in sample letters and the heading talks about cra's & credit repair firms inquiries by credit bureaus.

See if you think it comes anywhere close to meeting your needs and if so I will be happy to help you reword it to meet your needs if you require any help with it.

How does this sound...please feel free to make suggestions..this is my first attempt! LOL :)

    To whom it may concern,
I received the enclosed letter after requesting accounts on my report be updated to a 0 balance and included in bankruptcy. I do not understand your response asking me to send in the bankruptcy paperwork and list of creditors. What is your basis for this? I would like you to send me the applicable section of the FCRA.I am not required to send this to you. Verifying the information I requested is your job! I have made a lawful request of you to verify these reports about me in my credit files. May I respectfully suggest that you complete your investigation within the time period alloted you by law and in the event that you are able to verify this report that you supply me with the name, company address and company phone number of the person having verified the report and a full and complete report on the method you used to perform your investigation.

Please be advised that your failure to complete your investigation and comply with the law may result in legal action against you for a violation of FCRA.

    Sincerely,

Just a quick question - wouldn't you be better off trying to get these accounts completely deleted rather than admitting to them and having it "included in bk"? I personally think you should dispute the items as not yours or no account with x xx creditor with that line of credit. Anything to get it removed rather than verifieid. Just something for you to ponder.

I dunno. I like your start off and pretty much the whole thing but it just seems a little weak to me. I tend to think that if you are going to get into a battle with an army mule about who is going to pull the cannon to the battlefield the only reasonable way to do it is to point the cannon at him and see if he gets the hint. If not, just pull the trigger and be done with it. LOL

I'm sure others will come in with better revisions yet.

I do not think this is a lawful request for information on your part which would entitle you to more time in which to complete your investigation.

In the event that you are able to verify this report I must demand that you supply me with the name, company address and company phone number of the person having verified the report and a full and complete report on the method you used to perform your investigation.

Please be advised that your failure to complete your investigation and comply with the law will result in my referring this matter to my attorney with demand for immediate legal action against you.
