I've managed to get quite a bit deleted from all three credit reports with "Not Mine". However, as expected some did not drop off and a few I'm not sure I want to drop off despite their delinquent histories because they are the oldest tradelines on my report. My situation is as follows: Equifax Report Wachovia - this is a PAID CHARGEOFF, DOLA 9/1997, due to fall of 9/1997. Should I leave alone or is it too soon to call CRA and claim as obsolete? I tried disputing about a year ago as "Never Late" but it came back verified. Sears - UNPAID CHARGEOFF, DOLA 8/1998 (this is my oldest tradeline on this report). History has several delinquencies. Should I leave alone? First USA NA - UNPAID CHARGEOFF, DOLA 3/1998 (this is the 2nd oldest tradline on my report) Should I leave alone? AMEX - UNPAID CHARGEOFF, DOLA 6/2001, I know AMEX is hard to get deleted, any strategies?? RMA PUR1JAX (Collection Agency for Sears) - DOLA, 5/1999 IC SYSTEMS - DOLA 7/2002 - medical bill NCO FINC'L - DOLA 9/1997 - should I leave alone, dispute or claim obsolete? RMA JAX - DOLA 9/1997 - should I leave alone, dispute or claim obsolete? My scores are still in the low 500's and need to increase score ASAP. I have a couple credit cards that I'm in the process of paying down to increase my score. Any suggestions on how to tackle the above would be greatly appreciated!
Even without FACTA being fully in-place, yet, the playing field has shifted greatly since this year began. Last year, we didn't have a firmly established principal guaranteeing that data furnishers CONCLUSIVELY VERIFY, instead of cursorarily verifying. Now thanks to Johnson v. MBNA, we do, and that will be even more firmly entrenched when FACTA kicks in, in December. You want to demand that all of these accounts be conclusively verified, IN THEIR ENTIRITY, in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Thanks for your responses! I will send out validation letters on Sears and Amex. Now I have not been contacted by any CA for Amex, so do I send a validation letter straight to Amex or do I handle that differently? Also, do I call the CRA to dispute the accounts as obsolete or do I send some type of obsolete letter? Thanks again!!
