Had a judement in 1987 and it got renewed in 1997. I'm in CA. They've been mailing notices to the address I had 15 years ago when this all started. How many times can they renew?

When I disputed the info the law firm got my new address from the CRA.

Today I got a demand notice. The have my name listed twice, but one time it's a JR. and the other has the wrong middle initial. Also, the incident date on the demand letter is the date they renewed the judgement not the date it actually happened.

Do you think the court would overturn it based on the inaccurate info on the demand?

I'm still waiting for the response from the CRA. Even it it gets removed the judgement is still there.

Any ideas besides paying it?. The amount now is 24k.

The demand letter states they are trying to collect a debt but doesn't have a disclaimer about disputing it like most CA letters.

In California, an unsatisfied judgement can be renewed again and again for pretty much your whole working adult life (about 30 years if I recall).
